Gruppo Cauvin

Company Profile

Com.int started trading in 1982 with the objective of capitalising on the knowledge and skills of its parent company, Cauvin Group, to offer the supplies of Italian products to Developing Countries funded by the main International Financing Institutions.

In subsequent years, the many successes achieved enabled Com.int to widen the range of supplied products and extend their activity into the Transitional Countries.

In 1989, Com.int, together with six companies from other European Union member states, established a European Procurement Agency entitled “Euro.P.A”, which specialised in the field of procurement and technical assistance projects financed by the European Union in Developing and Transitional Countries.

In 1992 Com.int participated in the constitution of “Greenshields Project Cargo” based in Leghorn (Italy), a company specialising in transport logistics to remote areas in Africa, Central and South America, Far East, Pacific, East and South East Europe.

In the framework of the development aid programmes and projects, funded by the major International Financing Institutions, Com.int has carried out, in the last ten years, more than 400 contracts covering a wide range of products in more than 70 countries in Africa, Central America, South America, Pacific Area, South-East Asia, South-East Europe and East Europe. In addition, technical assistance services have also been provided by Com.int in many different sectors.

A long and varied experience of working with major multilateral development agencies and bilateral donors, has enabled Com.int to provide a unique capability to deal with the complex administrative and logistical problems that arise under aid programmes.

To assist them in the provision of professional technical assistance and consultancy services, Com.int has established agreements with specialist organisations to enable them to combine their vast experience in the area of international cooperation programmes, with the most experienced experts, both Italian and international, in the fields of science, technology, health and education.

Com.int, as a member of Euro.P.A., has been pre-qualified as a procurement agent by the European Commission to perform procurement services in the framework of the EC financed projects and programmes in favour of the Developing and Transition Countries.

Vittorio Cauvin SPA, Com.int’s majority shareholders, are included in the “Special List of the Companies Specialized in Procurement Activity” established by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the framework of the Italian Bilateral Aid (in particular Commodity Aid).
